Who we are
StinkFace Audio is responsible for the activation and support information described here. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@stinkface.uk.
Information we handle
- Purchase information: Gumroad supplies purchase status, purchaser email, product and transaction identifiers, and refund or dispute status when a licence is verified. We do not receive or store your full payment-card data.
- Activation information: purchase email, a cryptographic hash of the licence key, a one-way machine identifier, a user-readable computer name, activation/deactivation timestamps, licence identifiers and seat count.
- Support information: your email address and anything you include in a support, refund or licensing message.
- Technical and security information: our hosting and security providers may temporarily process IP address, browser or client details, request path, timestamps and diagnostic data needed to deliver and protect the website and activation service.
ShiftFace does not upload your audio, DAW projects, presets or parameter settings. After successful activation, normal licence checking is local and does not contact our server.
Why we use it
We use this information to verify purchases, issue signed licences, enforce the stated three-computer limit, manage activation and deactivation, provide support and refunds, protect the service, and meet legal or dispute-handling obligations.
Our main lawful basis is performance of our contract with you. We also rely on legal obligations where records must be kept, and legitimate interests for proportionate service security, abuse prevention and support administration.
Sharing and service providers
We share information only where needed with providers that help us supply the service, including Gumroad for checkout and purchase verification, DigitalOcean for hosting, and Microsoft 365 for business email. These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy notices and may process it outside the United Kingdom using applicable legal safeguards. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
Licence and activation records are kept while needed to provide your perpetual licence, manage computer seats and resolve entitlement disputes, and normally for no more than six years after the last relevant licence event. Support correspondence is normally kept for up to two years after the matter is closed. Short-lived security and diagnostic records are normally kept for no more than 30 days unless an incident requires longer investigation. Legal obligations or an active dispute may require longer retention.
Your signed local licence remains on your computer until you deactivate ShiftFace or remove the licence file. Uninstalling the plug-in does not automatically deactivate a seat or remove that local licence.
Cookies and analytics
The StinkFace website currently uses no advertising cookies, behavioural analytics or marketing trackers. Links to Gumroad and other external services take you to sites governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to be informed and to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal information. Some rights have exceptions where we must keep information to provide your licence, comply with law or defend legal claims.

Children
ShiftFace and this website are not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian, contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product, providers or law changes. The latest version and effective date will always appear on this page.
